1 Day Skill Camp

The Offensive/Defensive Line Camp is designed to enhance the skills and techniques of good offensive and defensive line play. Intensive coaching will help develop confidence and improve team play. The camp will be held for grades nine through twelve. This camp will help players gain on field experiences by competing with some of the best linemen in the area.

 

Points of Emphasis

 

OFFENSIVE LINE

1. Step-by-step progression of all individual run blocks especially the "Drive Block."

2. Coordination of individual blocks as they relate to tandem blocks such as scoop, fold and combo.

3. Step-by-step progression of 1-on-1 pass-protection techniques

4. Incorporation of long pass protection into different schemes such as drop back, slide and sprint out.

5. Develop an understanding of the total offensive picture as it relates to linemen. "Learn football, not just assignments."

6. Team work - working as a unit - (Bring offensive line teammates with you and learn to work together.)

 

DEFENSIVE LINE

1. Pass rush techniques vs. drop back-play action and three step drop.

2. Reaction to most commonly used blocking schemes

3. Effective use of hands-on defense

4. Work habits necessary to become an outstanding defensive player.

5. Extensive film study of drills and techniques.

Trainer

Big Boys in Training will provide an on the field trainer to better serve athletes that may endure minor cuts or injuries.

 

Education

An education counselor will speak with the student athletes about grades, ACT and SAT scores they will need in order to qualify through the NCAA clearing house.

 

Video

The camp will be professionally video taped and mailed to many popular college/ universities.

 

Camp T-Shirts

A Big Boys in Training camp T-shirt will be provided to each athlete

 

 

Lunch

Free lunch will be given to participating coaches and players.

 

Waiver

All Athletes must sign a waiver form before participating. Registration will start at 7:15 a.m. and we will be ready for a group stretch at 8:30 a.m. Athletes will not practice without the waiver.
